Dear La Plata County Citizens,

I want to thank the La Plata County voters for electing me as your next County Commissioner. It is with great honor and duty that I will serve all residents of this county for the next four years. I will strive to the best of my ability, to be fair, balanced and responsive on all matters that come before the board.

In partnership with my two fellow commissioners, and through personal leadership and experience, it is my hope that the institution of La Plata County government will operate as efficiently and as effectively as possible, delivering core services to you in a manner that is the most value for your tax dollars.

The economic crisis is still among us, and it is going to be a long road back to economic health. However, the best we can do is to collectively bring resolve to unstable markets, develop confidence in our entrepreneurial spirit, ensure that government is an enabler and not hinderer, and with all of us doing our part, public and private, La Plata County will emerge a prosperous and viable community.

I challenge all of you to be your very best for you community, work hard at whatever you do, and most of all be decent to one another. If you can do this, then I will gladly return the favor.
